Each year, Bloorview MacMillan Children’s Centre serves about 6,500 infants, children and youth up to 18 years of age with disabilities and special needs and their families. They benefit from Bloorview MacMillan’s outpatient clinics, hospital care, assistive technology services and community outreach activities. Most of our clients live in Toronto, but we also work with young people from across Ontario and beyond – particularly when complex medical needs that can’t be addressed in their home communities. In partnership with families and community partners, Bloorview MacMillan creates unique programs and services to enrich the independence and quality of life of the children and families we serve.
While known as a leading pediatric rehabilitation facility, Bloorview MacMillan Children’s Centre provides some services to adults with disabilities and special needs. This extension of services benefits young and older adults who have received services from Bloorview MacMillan all their lives. It also enables Bloorview MacMillan to offer costly, but important, assistive technology services to people with disabilities of all ages. Bloorview MacMillan’s services to adults include:
- Driver Rehabilitation
- Communication and Writing Aids
